A friend wanted a makers plate to fit on his scale steam locomotive. It is fairly small, therefore a bit of a challenge, so I had to have a go.
Quite pleased with the result. I only have a single extruder, so I had to change filament half way through.
Designing the lettering was fun, as I had to use sketchup one letter at a time!

Peter[/quote]Yes, always a bit of nightmare that. Think Fusion360 has better text handling tools that let you extrude text, but not sure about typesetting curved lines and text! You can give it an SVG file to map onto a surface, but if it’s a complex file then the memory load is very heavy when you try the extrude.
Yes, it was the curved lines that was the killer. Every letter had to be roughly placed, then tilted, then moved to the right position. The extruded letters in straight lines are easy with the Sketchup 3d lettering tool.
