They are possible! On the left is a 50-micron print, on the right is 25, heights of 7cm and 6cm respectively. I didn’t get the scaling right for the later print (the 50-micron print was done a month ago) but it actually works a bit “less is more” in favor of emphasizing the increased detail. As for the subject matter, I found it on Thingiverse and I have a reputation as a dirty old man to uphold.
The 25-micron print could have been slower to reduce the layer misalignment, as it is it took about 8 hours. But look at areas like the cleavage to see the difference. And that’s the only reason you should be looking at the cleavage.
Mmm, never let it be said that men just treat women’s bodies as objects…
That said, I’m a bit mystified on the choice of print if your intention is to demo 0.025 layers. Other than looking marginally smoother, there’s not much to say.
What about doing a 0.025 print of this:
Though before you start, I should warn you that the 0.1 version you see took over 9 hours…
Good to know very small layers are possible - opens up the possibility of doing really small, detailed prints. Actually I wouldn’t mind having a crack at a half or quarter size version fo that box in a finer resolution.
Did you change many settings or stick with the Cura defaults?
Hey, you pursue your perfect love box, I’ll pursue mine. Judge not.
