200W amplifier

Hi,

I have just finished and tested the 200w amp with an 8ohm speaker, the speaker has suitable RMS etc for the amp but it literally burnt out (smoke) as soon as I tested so I immediately turned it off…

What are the most likely problems for this to occur? I have tested polarity, I can only think that there is a problem with the ground as I did not connect the ground for testing.

I used a microphone input with no volume control so would the input have been too great?

Please check the numerous posts on this item.
Btw: the unit is equipped with a line input, not a microphone input.

They are not relevant… I have read them all.

The microphone was the input, not part of the kit…
