Hi,
I have built the 200W amplifier kit but resistor R16 blows as soon as i switch the power on.
Does anyone know why ?
Please.
Most likely an assembly problem.
Make sure power transistors or small signal transistors are not interchanged.

If you can provide LINKS (e.g. by using a free online picture base) to HI-RES and SHARP pics of your assembly (both solder- and component side)
then we can take a look and provide some feedback.
Hi,
it seems photobucket has crashed so for the time being i’m using imageshack.
Anyhow,photos as requested.
As you can see in the last photo R16 burned out.
Any help is much appreciated.
Sorry, pictures do not allow us to locate the cause of troubles.
Make sure there is no mechanical cause.
Check if R19 is not open-circuit.
For repair, we suggest to replace all small signal transistors.
Check power transistors.
If you cannot fix the problem, you can return your kit for inspection/repair.
Thank you for your help VEL417.
This is a nice little amplifier, but if you have all the parts in the right place, then it can only be your soldering at fault. I would re solder (re flow) the whole board and try again, usually something simple like that.
