2. Nozzle getting in the way Vertex K8400

Hi Guys,

I have a Vertex K8400 with 2 nozzle. It is a little odd problem. I just got my printer and 2. nozzle, because of bad driver board, was out of function. I used until now 1. nozzle until I got my driver board.
Now I have installed the board and 2. nozzle print beautifully.
My problem is now: When I start a new print with 1. nozzle, after print of 1. layer, 2. nozzle come in the way and tears the print from 1. nozzle. How can I solve this problem?

Is it because som filament sitting on tip of the 2. nozzle and dried. What can I do to help this problem?

I would appreciate your advice.

Regards,

Hello Ziglu5,

you max have a look at the manual, especially on the chapter for two nozzle printing http://manuals.velleman.eu/article.php?id=25.

They call it ooze shield, which should prevent exactly these effects. It is described for Repetier, you may check for similar mechanisms in other slicers.

Good luck.

Thank you, hoh61.

Regards…

I heat up the second nozzle, even if not used.
Not now any more since I moved to CYCLOPS from E3D

After completion of a print job, just clean the nozzle with a kleenex.

During cool down, you will see some plastic oozing until the temp drops to some 150 degrees (@ PLA) - you can still remove the droplet at that temp & you won’t get a new one, as the plastic will be too cold.

Works perfectly on my printer.

Edit: if you notice the droplet after the printer has cooled down - hook it up to Repetier Host with the USB cable & activate the heater. Set the temp to some 150 degrees & you’ll be able to wipe the PLA off the nozzle, without forming a new droplet.
