002 Connecting the printer

Have Pushed “Connect” Instructions tell me that I should see the Extruder and Bed temperature at about room temp but I see:

Have: “Connected Extruder: 0.00°C/Off Bed:22.50°C/Off Idle”

I assume this means there is an issue with Extruder Thermister…? either wiring or no resistance?

Does this issue prevent testing of the Z-Axis under the next step as I get the following:

“Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart! (Temperature is reset, set it before restarting)”

This is not a terribly helpful error statement.

Where do I start?

Indeed the thermistor must not be connected (broken thermistor, wire or bad connection). The printer won’t move if there’s no reading from it.

Thanks, bad connection on board…

Actually moved once prior to fixing connection, assume connection made briefly, now have approximately equal temperature readings, but nothing moving.

Had to reboot computer. all motors ok, on to heating
