Hi - I’m having similar issues , E3D V6 hotend, 0.4mm nozzle working great at .20 & .25 layer height
BUT - 0.6mm nozzle, prints are really weak. I printed a cover to a box that included some cylinders w/center holes and I broke the cylinder right off with barely Any effort whatsoever! I was using a layer height of .20 just to see how clean it could be with a 0.6mm nozzle.
• Am I way off with that and HAVE to use a higher layer height? 0.60 x 0.80 = < 0.48 so like 0.35???
• I also had layer width @ 0.6 to match the nozzle size - should that be higher?
• Can speed be a big factor in this? I figured bigger nozzle, faster prints. Should I scale my 3000mm/s by say 0.4/0.6 = 67% which would be around 2000 mm/s?
I also have the volcano nozzle, BUT haven’t assembled or tried. Any experience on what the optimal nozzle sizes are for the
A) E3D v6
vs
b) Volcano Nozzle?
I appreciate any experience on this!
