Hello,
I bought this kit years ago but it sat in a drawer until I remembered I had it and realised I had a useful application for it. I have built it and it works well. It comes with a battery holder for 9v and notes on the PCB indicating 9v supply. However there is also a jack plug which is the same as many 12v jack plugs. Will this kit run from a 12v supply into the jack plugs on both PCBs?
Many thanks,
Robin,
Yes, if it is 12V regulated.
Do not use an unregulated adaptor.
Hi again,
Many thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunately I am not too conversant with electrical terminology. I was hoping to be able to run the IR Light Barrier from a 12v battery. Occasionally The battery voltage may be as high as 13.5v when charging. I presume that by “regulate”, you mean control the voltage. What I need to know is, are the units regulated at the jack plug or do I need to regulate the voltage before I connect to the jack plugs. If so, what is the maximum voltage you would suggest to apply to the jack plugs.
Many thanks,
Robin.
PS. Is there a circuit kit that can switch on and off a relay at a given voltage? This is for an entirely different project.
Should work fine from a fully charged battery.
