VM122 - More mA at less volts? (and VM121 replacement?)

Hello, I do not understand very much about electronics…(unfortunately). These are my questions:

(1) The VM122 has 15 independent relais, right? They are specified with 50V/50mA.
Does that mean, with a lower voltage it can handle more mA without destroying the relais?

I would like to use it in my camping car for controlling the lights with a remote control. So I have LEDs, which can be directly connected to the 12V-battery. The battery voltage varies between 11.5VDC and 14.3VDC. But the LEDs each need (as measured with my cheap multimeter) about 60 to 64 mA. Would this destroy the relais or other parts of the VM122…short term…long term? As far as power consumption is concerned, the LEDs always remain below 1W whereas the specification of the VM122 allows 2.5W (with 50V/50mA as written in the manual).

(2) Could the codes of the VM121 remote be copied onto standard learnable IR-remotes used for TV and HiFi?

  1. They are not relays, they are transistor outputs. 50mA is the max current at any voltage.
    You need to add a relay card such as K6714 to the output of the kit.

Well, thanks for your answer. But then it does not make any sense for me, because the attractive thing was the low power consumption, witch of course is not there anymore if I have to use an aditiononal relaiscard (…especially the one recommended by you would be completely useless in a motorhome with only solar energy and 12VDC…).

If current consumption is an issue, you could use MOSFETs instead of relays to drive the lighting.
