After one month of use, the VM100 Power supply fuse blows after every power up. As PS I use a 12030 (30v/2A). Any ideas what could be the problem?
If I need to return the unit do I return both or is it likely the VM100 that has a problem? I don’t see any components burned.
it is a regular 8 ohm speakersystem with a Velleman mp3 player as a source. Automated installation that works about 6 hours from wdenesday to saturday.
any idea what i could test to determine a failure?
Most common problems are failure of the output stages due to overvoltage, overheating, excess quiescent current, etc…
We assume you did not touch the quiescent current adjust?
You could replace the transistors, however, if you do this, you loose your warranty, so it would be better to return the unit for inspection/repair.
It is highly unlikely that the transformer is defective. You can test with a multimeter.
However, an intermittent contact in the transformer connections can cause the unit to fail.
