I have been able to program the 16F627 both on the VM111 board and using ICSP.
I am now using a 16F88 chip and can program it on the VM111 board, but fails on ICSP.
I downloaded the new PicProg2009 v3 as instructed on the Velleman website. It says it supports the 16F88, but have not been able to make it work.
Has anyone used the VM111 to program a 16F88 using ICSP?

Does it fails only with an ICSP connection or also when you plug in the F88 ?
Only with ICSP…works fine with onboard socket. The 16F627 works with both onboard and ICSP.

Maybe you are using a ‘to long’ cable, try to reduce it.
If the controller is programmable “on board” it will also programmable via ICSP, it are the same lines.
