I was bought almost 40 units of K8048(PIC programmer & experimentation board) for teaching purposes during last year and last 2 years. Before this, I’m just using the serial cable as well and I didn’t facing any problem during the programming. The kit are very useful and versatile to make the students better understanding of PIC technology with using assembly code.
Since the new PC (laptop and desktop) don’t provide anymore the serial port, I was facing the problems when using the serial port. So I plan to change the programming cable from Serial to Serial to USB to Serial. Kindly help me to consult for any configurations. Your cooperation are much appreciated. Many Thanks.
Please note that the K8048 is not compatible with a USB to serial converter.
See the topic below: K8048 - Help for those wishing to use a USB to serial cable (June 28th last post date). Another member has reported success with WinPIC and a USB-Serial converter.
