The extruder motor does not work correctly

I have a fan mounted beside the extruder/heater. “Duct” I do not know what you mean by that? There is no additional parts on or around the fan.
The fan have not yet been initiated automatically by the program. (But the fan work manually via the print panel). Maybe will the fan run at a later stage in the building process, I do not know because I have not been able to build more than 2mm plastic material before I have to stop caused by the problem earlier described.

I try to configure settings in the slice-software, but it’s seems hard to change preset values of extruder temperature* and get the bed temperature to reach the new value (70 degree).
I will now investigate the parameter settings further but I want also to learn from anyone that have similar experience and have hints for me.

 • I intend to change extruder temp from 190 to 200 degree. This to assure that plastic PLA melt into the previous layer and stick to it.

With some tweaking hands I could bring up bed temp to 70 degree and extruder temp to 200. BUT still problem with non adhesive plastic material, both towards the bed and to the following layer of plastic. Sometimes I feel that the plastic material is not feeding enough… maybe I should try to tweak that parameter too. Any suggestions of filament feeding value?

Any other obvious hints?

I have virtually tried everything in order to get PLA stick to the bed… BUT it get loose after a while…

 1. I have tried bed temperature from zero to 75 degree
 2. Extruder temp 190-200
 3. I rugged up the bed with sandpaper P80, then cleaned with solvent.
 4. Using optimized “Extruder width” (change in plastic feeding throu the nozzle).
 5. I have taped a cold bed,
 6. Used Brim-function (2mm)
 7. And I used the “raft” function (put an adherent prelayer for higher stickiness of the printed model)
 8. Diffrent layer thickness etc

This can not be right, why is this such a big problem???

I’m printing PLA at 190° on a heated bed (50°) with a mirror on top. It sticks well directly on a cleaned glass, or with hairspray, blue painter tape etc…
I’m also using this kind of fan duct :

What brand of filament do you use? Did you try another one?
The nozzle must be at 0.2 to 0.25 mm from the bed.

The Filament brand is the one from Velleman.

Blue Painter Tape… I’m not sure what that is.
I used a black plastic-like tape which is little stretchable, brand “ISOMA PT4000”. - Can you give me a internet link to the Blue painter tape you suggest?

Thanks! During this weekend I will try to print on the blue tape. Will the blue tape stick on the bed having 50 degree temp? - or is tape on a cold bed better?
If that not work, I try to get hold of a glass-piece!

About the fan duct:
I’m sorry, I can’t see or understand for sure where the duct is placed in the picture and what the function is?

In my experimental mind I can use a “fan duct” to remove toxic air and cool the hot spots. The concept is as follow: The cooling fan is attached to a plastic duct, the fan move the air from the melting spot and push it into the duct. At the end of the duct a carbon filter is attached to filter any plastic residues in the air.

Have your fan duct an another functionality?
Have your fan duct an another functionality?
Yes it’s guiding the airflow to the object being printed, cooling the layers instead of cooling everything like the stock fan does (witch is mostly cooling the heated bed and the print head). It prevents the layers to be wiped out by the next ones before having the time to cool down. Have a look at the original design of the fan duct to see how it works.

I DID IT My first completed 3d-printed model - the curciut board cover. Thanks so very much for the support I got from you on the forum

The Blue Painter Tape did hold the model on the cold bed. Thanks man!
Now, I plan for the fan duct printing…
