Hi. I have connected REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER and enabled it. I use the latest Marin firmware (K8200 printer)…
Here you can find a photo of erratic display: rodic.si/glcd.jpg
It seems there is no error on hardware and pin configuration as the LCD is setup and displays graphics. The seller claims it is 128x64 which is default. I counted pixels and it seems 128x64 is correct.
Any idea what the problem is?
Hi. I uncommented the right option. I use latest Arduino 1.5.8 (latest, beta, but not sure about the number…). Should I use older versions? (Sent from phone)
Hi. Yes the old ArduinoIDE 1.0.6 compiles LCD driver accurately. Now I see things.
Now the problem is I cannot use rotating encoder on external PCB. It just show some random menus and submenus. Randomly every time I turn the knob in either side. I have tried setting ENCODER_PULSES_PER_STEP 4 and ENCODER_STEPS_PER_MENU_ITEM 1 and some other numbers, but no difference.
I also have encountered another problem. I cannot use SD CARD. I have enabled REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER end extra SDSUPPORT but I cannot upload anything via Repetier…
That’s not the way you have to do it. You must plug your SD card in your computer and save the file directly and then plug it in the printer. You can’t save the Obj file on the printer via Repetier (even if it looks so).
Hi. I managed my SDCARD. It works now as you wrote. I even managed to upload latest Marin firmware (found a bug, reported it, now it’s corrected - for K8200). Only problem I face now is the rotary encoder. It seems when I am rotating the knob, there are false button-presses. I will solder some 10-100nF capacitors to LCD-PCB as there is no low pass filter neither HW nor SW… will report…

Raby, with the K8201 and repetier 1.0.6 you indeed can.
But it is extremely slow…

yep you’re right. It connects to the SD card when it decides to one time over 5 and as you say it takes ages to upload a very simple file. Completely useless then.
