Programming 16F876A with VM111 / K8048

I have a technical problem using your VM111 / K8048 Board.

I intended to use it to program a PIC 16F876A, but I can’t do it with the software included in the CD (PICProg2). The device I use is not present in the device selection combo box. I tried to download the new PICProg2009, but the problem is the same. When I select the VM111 tool the item disappears from the combo box.

But in the device manual the PIC 16F876A appears as one of the devices programmable with the VM111.

Could you help me?

Set the programmer device to K8048/VM111

I tried with PicProg2009, but the result is the same. I see the 16F876A device only if I select the VM134…

I have the same problem, lgiancristofaro!!
I “solved” with another PIC, so my 16F876A now is unused… :frowning:(
I bet it (the pic) would be programmed, if someone has a solution…

Has any one had a reply to these problems, I have a similar one on the 877, but I seem to get know response from Velleman on these forums?

I have come across 2 methods to program the 16F873A, which may also work for the 16F877. I also needed the solution to program the 16F84.

Method 1 is to use the older software on the K8048 disk called Progpic2 version 2.6.
Method 2 is to use the third party software WinPic (DL4YHF’s PIC programmer for Windows), which can be configured for the K8048 programmer.

Both of these software packages can program -A series PICs, while PicProg2009 cannot.
