Another slight problem I did notice was that in Repetier when I was monitoring the temperatures of the bed and extruder the bed temperature did not show a log of the heater being turned on, the extruder showed this in the lower pane but not the bed? Any suggestions?
I went back in this topic and noticed that ichbinsnur suggested that the bed temp for ABS should be much hotter, I will try this tonight just need to try and get a relay.
I and am trying to order some BuildTak to try that.
There is an ini file on the download site for ABS.
Also make sure your fan is not running.
Your room should be warm and make sure the bed is warm as well.
Thanks for the replies.
As per ichbinsnur replies to using an upgraded power supply for the bed heater, can I use the stock bed and connect a 24V supply to that or do I have to modify the heating elements in some way or add a resistor? I don’t want to burn the elements out as I can not get spares here in Aus. I got a reply from a query to Vellerman yesterday and basically the suppliers here do not carry any spares (“Limited” was their words).
Time to modify it to accept other manufactures parts.
The stock heatbed works quite well with 24V.
I use it almost every day for several months now.
Hi. Heatbed at 24V. How many amps? Wattage for the powersupply.
The stock heatbed draws about 4.5 amps at 24v.
So you should be good with a power supply that can deliver about 5-6 amps or about 150w and up.
