I just bougt a MK164 ir volumecontrol.
when muting or when connecting the volumecontroller teh led is blinking
when blinking i hear at the same time a popping sound trough my speakers
also when playing popping sounds somtines occur
how can i solve this problem?

What input level?
What is the distance between source and the unit and between the unit and the amplifier?
What power supply do you use for the unit?

Tested the volume remote on a perreaux amp and a quad amp
I made two 30 cm cables from supra cable to connect the remote to the amp and the source
making these cables costed more then the remote volume control. these are ok.
i do not know the input level just used a standaard dvd player and a meridian high end cd player
the power supplys i used are a standard adaptor on 9 and 12 volt used also a very expensive stabilized 12 volt
power supply and used a 9 volt battery.
teh popping soun occurs on all different supply`s
i do not inderstand the problem,dubble schecked everithing and should work normally but it does not.
Can you please check if all the elco’s on the kit are correctly positioned.
An inverted elco can behave in such a way.
Did you check without the kit inserted in the circuit?

I checked all solderings end the position of all elco`s and are all in the correct placement.
i do not have equipment to scheck with the kit not in circuit.
i think that the problem is in the the 9413p IC alle other parts are in the right placement
and the volume control is working fine, just have then anoing pop sound in the mute position and 0 position
