Pic16f648a supported by picprog2006?

Hy,

I’m wondering if picprog2006 support the 16f648a, i’ve loaded the same program (which works fine on a 16f628a) into the 16f648a. Ofcourse i changed the header file in de CCS C compiler.
No errors during downloading, but the program doesn’t work with the 16f648a. I’ve tried to reload the program, but the device ID can’t be found.
According to the datasheet the only difference is the more RAm and eeprom memory.
Why is there a yellow cross in the device selector next to the 16f648a
and on the site this pic is mentioned as supported :?

Any help, is welcome

Karlo

This device should be supported.
If you can’t find the problem, please send us a sample pic so we can check what the problem could be (a bug is always possible).

What version are you using?

Hello,

I am using the picprog2006 2.2.0.0

I’ve noticed that the timer1 external crystal oscillator doesn’t work
crystal type 2.4576 MHz & 2 x 15 pF pull caps to ground
No oscillation takes place

using in circuit programming:

I use a switch to disconnect the pic and its crystal from the programming lines, i 'll try to remove the switch to be sure no parasitic effects occurs.

With an universal device programmer i’m able to clear the device.
It is not the first time if noticed this problem, when I use RB6 & RB7 as IO or oscillator input and the program get stuck because the oscillator don’t work the in circuit programming doesn’t work to clear or rewrite the pic.

greets

Karlo
