Why I am getting different values when I input the function generator output directly into the o-scope. If I setup the FG to output a sine wave of 1Khz at 1 V RMS and the o-scope reads 1.16 V RMS? What is going on here? Is the accuracy of one of these off?
Most probably the oscilloscope is OK.
The generator may output slight “overvoltage” when connected to high impedance. The oscilloscope input impedance is 1M ohm.
Please download the latest software for the PCSGU250.
The accuracy of the function generator is improved in the new version of the software.

If you are using Windows Vista, then you have to manually delete the file pcgu250.bit from the folder: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Velleman\PcLab2000LT
The new features of the software take effect only if the old file pcgu250.bit is deleted first.
You may also use the Function Generator: Options -> Fine Tune menu option to adjust the output voltage
