I’m Dieter from Germany. Excuse, my school English is more than 30 years ago.
My PCSGU250 is rather new. At first I installed it on a XP-Laptop with SP2. Very often the display shows values half as high as they really are. For example a 1,5V battery: Sometimes the correct value is displayed but often only about 0,8V.
I tried the newest software and the driver 1.0.0.0 - win. But that didn’t help.
Finally I installed the software on a new Windows-7-Laptop. It’s the same.
What I also find unusual is the adjusting of the y-position. The position of the “1” or “2” in the display are often very far away from the graph, naturally without any electrical input (0 Volt).

Have you tried to calibrate? On the Options menu, click Calibrate.
Does this fix the problem?

yes, I’ve calibrated the scope several times. When I started the calibration, the device had been switched on about an hour before. The probes ware disconnected from any cirquits - laying on my desk but the other end fixed in the PCSGU250. I hope the way I calibrated the probes is correct.
An Accu from a motorcycle with exact 12.9 Volt is displayed with about 9 Volt.
The 1.56Volt AA-Type was diplayed with 0.8 Volts at last.
The scope-settings are (accu 12.9 Volts):
CH1
3Volt
Coupling DC
Probe x1
MATH-Menü all options OFF
(Screenshots are available)
Testing the 1.5V AA-Type the setting are the same except
1Volt (instead of 3Volt)
The values of my file “calibration.log”
Calibration results:
CH1 offset at 3V/div : 114 OK
CH2 offset at 3V/div : 113 OK
CH1 offset at 1V/div : -2 OK
CH2 offset at 1V/div : -4 OK
CH1 Y-position low 32
CH1 Y-position mid 128
CH1 Y-position high 223
CH2 Y-position low 32
CH2 Y-position mid 127
CH2 Y-position high 223
Perhaps is there anything unusual?

The calibration results are OK.

Please do following test:
Connect the probe tip to the function generator output.
Click the square wave button to output 5Vpp 500Hz signal.
Set the scope settings 1V/Div and 1ms/Div.
Probe setting x1.
In the View menu select Markers (DSO) to measure the amplitude.
The screen should look like this:

If not, then there is some failure.
Please repeat the test on Ch2 too.

sometimes there are peaks:

It seems that the “1” and “2” are not aligned with the traces.
Are they aligned after the calibration?
There seems to be a big DC offset in the oscilloscope.
Also the signal amplitudes are wrong.
Have you downloaded the latest PCLab2000LT software v1.06 ?

To answer your question: After calibration both channels are aligned until I switch on the RUN-bottom.
On my XP-Laptop runs the latest 1.06. On the other Laptop I’ve installed 1.07 with the big screen. It makes no difference.
