PCSGU250 30Vp

(1) What component limits the osci input to 30Vp max?
(2) Can I go higher with another probe that supports >30V?
(3) Is PCSGU250 robust against short voltage peaks?
(4) why is the osci software warning when i switch to 1:10 input and not if i switch back? can i go higher with 1:1?

Thanks alot, osci with function gen is very helpful!
(1) What component limits the osci input to 30Vp max?
There is no optical isolation between the oscilloscope and the PC. The 30V limit is for safety reasons only.

quote Can I go higher with another probe that supports >30V?
Yes, moving the probe slider to the position x10, you may measure higher voltages. For safety reasons this is not recommended anyhow.

quote Is PCSGU250 robust against short voltage peaks?
Yes.

quote why is the osci software warning when i switch to 1:10 input and not if i switch back? can i go higher with 1:1?
Normally x10 setting is used for higher voltages. This is the reason for the warning.
