my PCS500 PC Scope is defective. First it died down and it was not possible to switch it on again. The internal Fuse FS1 was burn out, so I replaced it.
Now I can switch the scope on again. But the calibraition fails whenever I start the software. The scope is terrible squeaking and after a while, the communication breakup.
Where can I send it to repair? Or can you give me an advice to repair it by myself?
Before sending the scope to repair you may try following:
Delete WinDso.ini file from the folder where the software is installed.
Then start the PC-Lab2000 soft and select PCS500 as normally.
The reason to the problem may be that the WinDso.ini was corrupted and the scope gets wrong initial setup.
I have a similar proble, when I start the software I get the message “Calibrating - Please Wait…” I have tried it on an old Win95 laptop (it worked on this previously) and on an XP desktop. Under XP the Task Manager shows the processor at 100%. Deleting WinDSO has not worked either.
I found the problem with my PCS500. I tried another 9V power supply and it works OK. I checked the other supply and although the output was DC as stated on it the voltage was swinging from around 1V to 20V.
