PCS10 - PcLab2000SE - Windows 7 x64

Hi. I’ve purchased a PCS10 in order to work with my DELL Vostro 1520 W7-X64.
The item is correctly installed as HID and works properly using Recorder_Logger_Demo.exe under Recorder_VB_Demo or Recorder_ Delphi_Demo.
The problem arise when I try to use PcLab2000SE v4.00. The USB Device Detected is grayed and when I select PCS10 and then OK, the Recorder/Logger advice me that “No data acquisition device found.” under Device label.

Any idea?

Regards
GM

When you plug the USB cable to the PCS10 the “RECORDING” LED should flash three times and go off. This indicates the unit is detected by the Windows.

The “USB Device Detected” is always grayed but the check box next to it is checked if the device is detected

The check box next to “USB Device Detected” is not checked.

As I told the unit works properly using Recorder_Logger_Demo.exe under Recorder_VB_Demo or Recorder_ Delphi_Demo.

To me is not an hardware problem, but a HID problem (software). PcLab2000SE simply doesn’t recognize the HID unit.

Strange problem indeed.
I made some PCS10 test with Windows 7 x64 without any problems.
The PCS10 works well in “normal mode” and in “as administrator” mode too.

You may try to run the PcLab2000SE “as administrator”.
Also you may try if there is any help if you run the program in compatibility mode for Windows XP.

I’ve found a solution.
The trick is to run the program with PCS10 unplugged and connect it later.
If I start PCLAB2000SE V4.00 with no PCS10 connected and then I connect it, the sign near “USB Device connected” appears. If I start with PCS10 previously plugged, it doesn’t appear.
After this when I press the button PCS10 and then OK, the program PCS10_8047 start, but again with “No data acquisition found”. At this point I unplug PCS10 then I plug it again and then device change to “Velleman Recorder/Logger” and everything work properly.
Is also possible to disconnect PCS10 (appears “No data acquisition found”) and then reconnect it again (returns “Velleman Recorder/Logger”).

If this procedure is not necessary on your computer, one clue could be VMWare Players that is installed on my pc (and probably not on your) and in the past gave me some trouble using other USB devices (Huawey GSM modem). For that, Vodafone provides a patch in order to work.

Anyway now it works and I’m really satisfied with your product. On another pc (running XP), no trouble at all.
Thanks again
