New to P8048'1

Hi, I’ve just purchased the P8048’1 and the dsPIC30F2010 and have a few questions before I begin programming.

I have some test code written in C (for the PIC) that I would like to load onto the chip, although the software the P8048’1 came with doesn’t look like it supports C, only ASM.

I downloaded MPLAB IDE (v 8.10) and looked at that, but it doesn’t seem compatible with this PIC.

Is there anyway I can load this test code onto this PIC using the P8048’1? I have access to a PICkit 2 - is that able to plug into the ICSP slot for programming?

Thanks in advance,

-Matthew

No that’s not possible. Our K8048 and K8076 support only there listed PIC’s

Although is it the software or the hardware that limits the list of supported PICs?

My suggestion is that I can still use the K8048 for programming, but to use a different program for generating the hex file and sending it to the chip.

Thanks,
-Matthew
