why there no supporting here??
my system is 64-bit system
and i put the k8090D.dll in the file C:\Windows\System32

and the still appearing

what should i do?

Is it possible to connect more than one VM8090 via USB to one PC?

Or maybe there is an other solution for instance a daisy chain.
(I mean one board connected via USB all others via a special
connector from one board to the next board.)

In my case I need 2 or 3 VM8090 boards at one PC.

For test stand purposes I know applications with much more relays
for instance 60…256 relays. So it would be a great thing if this would
be possible.

I have an other Vellemann board in front of me, the P8055.
With this I can use jumpers to address all together 4 boards of it’s kind.

So, anyone have an idee?

You can connect as many board as there are possible COM ports, about 200+. Each board will gets its own virtual COM port (COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, …).

I’ve been working on a little library for dealing with the K8090 Card in C# .Net, after running into trouble getting the provided DLL to work on my 64 bit system.

I’m interested in purchasing one of these K8090 USB relay boards. Could any clever person tell me if it is usable with C++ compiled using GCC under Ubuntu?

Further, would you happen to have some very simple example C++ code for Ubuntu to, say, switch relay 1 on?

Has anyone had any luck using the iPad APP (K8090) that allows control of the K8090 USB card? I installed that APP several months ago and have had NO luck in making it work from my iPad. I wrote emails to the APP designer and essentially got NO help from him. I also asked VELLEMAN tech services to contact the designer and still have heard nothing from them. I would love to get this card working, otherwise it is of no use to me. Someone please help!!!

  1. Have you edited the .ini file of the server? If yes, please post the contents of the ini file
  2. Does the server run? If no, what error or message do you get
  3. Are both the K8090 and the iPad/iPhone on your local network? If yes, describe your network topology
  4. Are you trying to use your k8090 from an iPad that is outside your local network? If yes, you will need to set up Network Address Translation in your router

I want use one of these kits K8055, K8055N, K8090, VM110 VM110N for a iphone controled light system.
My question is of i can use one of these without pc after the connection with the iphone (sharing the security code)
After setup, i want put the kit into a box without PC.

All the kits you mentioned need a server application running on a computer that relays traffic from the module to the iPhone/iPad…

Coincidentally, a new module is being developed that will have an ethernet interface, eight relais, an iPhone/iPad app to operate it, a web interface, etc. Depending on how long you can postpone your project, I think this will be a perfect match!

Hopefully by the end of this year, but probably later, can’t give you an exact date though. If you have the option to wait it does seem like the best match for you

I ordered a K8090VM.

I’d like to remotely control the lights in my house and the shutters of my windows (how do you call that in English) when I’m not home.
In a second stage I’d like to add a simulation of presence, meaning that I want to write some software that turns lights on and off, but in a realistic way, not just programmed obviously.

Now I want to understand how I do this.
Am I right when I say that I need some sort of computer that acts as a server and that runs my program, and to which the K8090 is connected to via USB? Or is there a way to put this kind of software onto the K8090 itself? I suppose not?

If not, then I’m planning on working with a mini-computer/system-on-chip (SoC) like a PandaBoard or a Raspberry Pi (as soon as I can get my hands on one): these are more than powerful enough for this application, and they use very little power.

What have you tried so far? Since the K8090 does not have ethernet you will indeed need to install the server application that comes with the iOS application. The server application runs on Microsoft Windows and will act as a TCP/IP server for your USB connection.

I haven’t tried anything yet as I was waiting for a Raspberry Pi, but due to the high demand, I’ll have to wait a bit before I can get one :angry:

But is there a Linux alternative for the server application? Because I can’t run Windows on the Raspberry Pi (or Pandaboard, or…). In theory it’s possible, since there are version of Windows that run on ARM, but then there’s the huge license cost and stuff like that. So I’d really prefer Linux…

So I’m wondering if anyone has made a server application for Linux yet, or whether tehre’s one available from you guys. A basic server application would be fine…I’m able to extend it if necessary myself.
