Hi,
I’ve just purchased the MK179 proximity card reader (still waiting for it to be delivered). What I’d like to be able to do is identify which card was used to activate the relay & I’m wondering if there is some way to get this information from the VMK179 chip ?
I’ve downloaded all of the documents available on your site for the module & have read through all of the posts in this forum also so I know you don’t give out your source (I don’t blame you) & you don’t do custom code either (that’s fine too)…
I’m guessing that each card holds a unique serial number and that in ‘high security’ mode the VMK179 stores this serial numbers from ‘learned’ cards. When a card is presented it then compares the serial number from the card just read with the list of learned cards so it can decide whether to activate the relay. Given that the cards serial number has to be passed to the VMK179 chip, if I knew which pin(s) on the VMK179 are used for input & the format of the data passed then I could use this with the fact that the relay has been activated to record which cards where read & if the card was on the learned list - Can you provide this info or is there an easier way ?
thanks,
John
