Hi, I was hoping that someone could help me, I have bought and fixed together the MK174 Single Message/Playback, it all seems to work the LED lights up and the buttons seem to work, however when I record a sound and play it back all i get is like a white noise sound and a whistling.
Please can someone help me

Most likely assembly problem.
If you can provide links to HI_RES and SHARP pics of both component and solderside, we can take a look at your assembly.
As we suspected, soldering looks rather poor.
Redo each soldering. Make sure solder flows nicely.

It looks like you have a short between pins 7 and 8 on IC1 as well as pins 10 and 11 of IC1
Thankyou for the helpful advise, I resoldered everything and now it works great, just another question any way of making ut a little louder, if not no worrys, but once agina thank you for the help. you have been a life saver
You could add a little amp. We have a number of them in our range (e.g. K8066, K4001, etc…)
Make sure to use a separate power supply for the amp.
