I have been using my mk164 kit to control the volume of my active speakers and it has been working fine for many months, but recently it has been randomly going to muted mode.
The LED is flashing indicating its muted even though no ir signal was sent, is there any reason this would happen?
The unit recovers just by increasing the volume as normal.
Any help appreciated.
If there are power interruptions, the unit will restart in the ‘mute’-mode.
Are you sure there is no IR source in the vicinity?
There was no other Ir in the area or power interruption, I am running it with a +12v supply.
Is this too high and could it cause issues?
Check the regulator IC.
If it becomes too hot due to a too high input voltage, it will interrupt the supply and cause a reset.
Make sure a mechanical problem (e.g. soldering, etc…) is not at the cause of troubles.
