MK125 Light Sensitive Switch (schemerschakelaar)

Hi,

I have assembled 2 MK125 light sensitive switch kits. They work correctly.

My problem is the “delay circuit to avoid cycling”. It’s mentioned on the box, and it does exactly that: when the surrounding light condition changes, there is a delay until the relay is activated.

–> Question: How do I change this? I do not want the delay. When light or dark is detected, I want the relay to switch immediately, without delay.
How do I do this?

Turning the adjuster button only affects the sensitivity, not the delay. That remains…

PS: I’m new here, and not experienced in electronics. So please explain in very simple terms (like for example which component to change or which contacts to bridge,…)

Thanks guys,
Wekke

Just remove C3 (100uF). For stabilty reasons you can mount a 100nF capacitor for C3, but remove the ELCO first.

Great, that’s exactly what I needed!

Thanks,
Wekke

Haha! My question too! Maybe you should put it in the manual! Thanks!

Will 0.1uF 63V do?
Also, when you say to remove the ELCO first, do you mean remove the original C3 (100uF)?

That’s exactly what I needed, too. Thanks!

Is there a way to increase the time delay? I’ve got this kit to control the opening and closing of a sliding chicken coup door. Opens when the sun starts to rise, closes when it gets dark. But when its closing, part way through the cycle it starts to open again, then close, for a minute or so. It would be great if I could just change the capacitor, maybe for one with a higher value, and have a delay of 10 minutes or so, but I’ve no idea about ratings etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated
