I have recently assembled the IR Lightbarrier kit and it works just fine when powered by batteries. For some reason, when the receiver is powered by an AC adaptor, the range is severly limited (1 or 2 feet). I have checked polarity and voltage, even added an extra filter capacitor but to no avail. I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced this problem.
