Hello,
I built the MK120 and between 1-5 feet it works perfectly. After 5 feet the receiver detects the IR beam to almost 12 feet but when the beam is broken and then reestablished the unit does not reset and the LED and buzzer stay on.
I have to shut the unit off and on and at that point and it’s when it comes back on it ready with LED and buzzer off.
Any idea where I should start to troubleshoot this?

I am having a problem similar to the one that you described in 2010. Did you ever find a solution?
I have searched all the answers given to the various problems raised as you indicated but have not found an answer to the problem I am experiensing.
After the beam is broken and then reestablished, the photocell detecting the IR, does not now reset the system and cancel the alarm, as it did when first built. Some change has occured. Is this change as originally intended or has a component failed? If I switch off the power to the receiver then switch it back on, the system will reset until the beam is broken again.
So maybe you could tell me:-
A -Should the system automatically reset when the beam is reestablished onto the photocell?
B - Should the alarm continue to sound until the system is switched off?
