MK111 Power Supply

Simple newbie question: What battery can I use to power the MK111?

Thanks!

A 12V battery.

I get the 12V part but I am unsure about the specific battery. If I hook it up to a car battery will it fry the circuits? I am afraid a small “AA sized” battery will have too short of a life.

That’s true, normally a circuit with a relais is always powered with an adapter.

So will a 12V car battery fry the circuit if hooked up to the +12V and GND terminals?

No.

That is good to know. I was using 2-9V batteries for a power supply. I am using the MK111 to control a 30 amp relay which is hooked up to a car battery. Using the car battery for a power supply is preferable. Does Velleman have any interval timers with relays that can handle 30 amps? It’s kinda klunky using MK111 relay just to activate another relay. Still I am thrilled it works!

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, no such kit.

No problem. Like I said I am thrilled that this is working!

Thanks again!
