MK111 malfunctioning

My MK111 doesn’t work properly.
It will always close the relay unless both RV’s are completely turned to the left.

When I adjust the pulse the LED just stays on and the relay starts to make a buzzing noise.
When I adjust the pause, it just stays on too.

And even when both RV’s are completely to the left it doesn’t do what its should, then it goes on and off very fast (too fast).
Until it slows down and eventually stays on all the time.

What could be wrong?

Does anyone know?
It’s rather urgent…

Most likely an assembly problem.
Hard to troubleshoot without actually being able to examine the unit
If you can post links to hires and sharp pictures of both solder and component side, maybe we can give a hint…

Ok, I will do this as soon as i get home.
Thanks in advance.

Here they are:

The links don’t seem to work…

How about these?

Assembly looks good.
How is your kit powered ? Voltage ? how ? (battery, adapter ?)
Maybe you can post a picture of the powered kit ?.

It’s powered by a 12V DC connection from a computer power supply.

I received some help on another forum too, after a bit of troubleshooting and measuring voltages, I got to he following results:

  • pin 1 to ground: 0.00V
  • pin 4 to ground: 10.65V
  • pin 8 to ground: 10.65V
  • cathode of D3 to ground: 10.65V
  • pin 2 to ground: 7.07V
  • pin 6 to ground: 7.07V
  • C3: 7.07V

Which, they say, means the IC is defective.
