MK 136, Increasing audio output

I’m looking to use this device with low amp motorcycle helmet speakers with this device. Speaker output is perfect for ear buds but obviously too low for my application. How do I go about increasing the audio out?

I used a recommended modification from a forum dated 2013. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8968&p=68793&hilit=mk+136#p68793

Disconnect R1 & R2.
Replace R7 & R8 with wire jumpers.
If necessary, decrease value of R14 & R15 to reduce gain.

The amp worked fine until the changes, now nothing. I’m assuming it will work fine if I return it to factory. Is this modification still current?

Any help would be appreciated

Think I may have figured it out. Reinstalled the Mic resistors R1 & R2, and left the R7 & R8 bypassed, works like a charm.

Someone let me know if I missed something.

Mic resistors are only needed when you use electret microphones, which need power to operate correctly.

Can you recommend an enclosure for the MK136? (excluding the battery tray)

There is no dedicated enclosure for the MK136.
All depends on your taste, application, budget, etc…

WAIT! I have a question regarding your statement “Mic resistors are only needed when you use electret microphones, which need power to operate correctly”.

The amp comes WITH mic resistors as part of the kit. Why would I NOT need them??

In case you modify the kit and use different microphones.

I understand thank you.

While I have your attention, to increase output volume all that is required is to remove the R7 & R8 resisters and jumper the connections correct or is there something else I should be doing as well?

Thank you

Can someone please answer this question.

Yes, this is all you should do.

Thank you
