MK 120 - IR Light Barrier not working - Help

Do you have any suggestions for a box in which I could put these 2 circuits? e.g. what I should be aware of, anything?

Since you’re doing modifications to the unit that would be hard to guess at.
I would start with a plastic watertight box.
Maybe put silicone sealer around the holes for the IR LEDs

And make sure to put a 1N4148 or similar diode over the relay coil to protect the driver transistor.
(cathode to the +)

Ok, I’ll do that!

I noticed that when I turned the receiver off, the led (and relay) turned on for a brief moment.
It doesn’t really matter to me, but is this normal? Is it some load stored by a capacitor?

Just another guess.

This maybe the capacitors unloading.

I seem to remember mine doing that well at least the beep.

Yes, it is normal.

Is it normal that once triggered, the alarm stays on and does not automatically timeout after a preset delay time? It appears that the only way to reset the system is to turn the receiver board off and back on again. Please can you clarify.

Problem solved: Receiver battery was duff…

Looking at the Schematic of the Receiver , were is , " VREF " supposed to be connected to ! .

cheers

If anyone can answer Spike’s question I would also be very interested in the reply.
Thanks,
