A pulse time of .5 seconds on the Mk 111 to drive the relay is adequate. However, I need a pause of low time of up to 5 minutes before the next relay closure.

What component and value can I use to have a variable pause between relay closures of 1 to 5 minutes?

Check the diagram. It indicates pulse/pause parts. In this case: increase C3. Sorry, no values, experiment for best results.
