I have reset the board a number of times but when I press sw11 it always plays the sequence of mp3s from folders B followed by A then C. The same happens when I press sw12. PIC chip problem?
It seems the preset buttons D and E are reprogrammed.
You can reset the unit to its original settings:
- Disconnect the power adaptor.
- Press the Play button SW1 and keep it pressed when the power is connected again on.
- Now you should see on the LCD text “FACTORY DEFAULT”.
- Then release the play button.
This is the procedure to re-assign the preset button to other folder:
• Select the folder (by pressing the preset buttons).
• Press push button SW1 to pause the MP3 player.
• Press long on the preset button where you want this folder to be assigned.
• Led LD1 will blink fast to confirm if no LCD is mounted.
I have attempted the reset. It does not result in playing folder D or E properly as I have stated before.
There may be some problem with folders D and E content.
Can you play normally the files in the folders D and E ?
If there are no valid MP3 files (with .mp3 extension) in the preset folder, the player starts to play root folder.
If there are no files in the root folder, the player plays all folders containing valid MP3 files on the SD card.

Hi,
Not trying to get in the middle of things.
You might want to check the value of R15 it should be 220ohms
If it’s not then you will need to go through all of the resistors and check all of their values.
at the very least check R15, R16, R26, R27 and R29
Hope this helps.
I can sucessfully reset the unit but still have the same result for mp3 files in folders D and E. They never play and the buttons for D and E play the files in B, A and C in that order as if one file. I have checked the resistors. ??
Also can the A thru E buttons be programmed to not change when the buttons are held down?
Can you play the files in folders D and E in “normal mode” pressing the next ‘>’ button until you are in folder D or E?
Or use the select folder option:
- press long push button SW6 “select” to open the setup menu.
- Select the folder with push buttons SW4 (up) / SW5 (down)
- Confirm with a short press on SW6
Also can the A thru E buttons be programmed to not change when the buttons are held down?
I’m sorry, it is not possible.
The button will be re-programmed if held down in ‘Pause’ mode.
