Hi

I openned a new topic because nobody answered anything to my posts to older topic.

I bought a K8076 i assembled it (double checked).

I connected to my pc, runs windows xp, and i tried to write a simple program to the pic.

I keep getting “the setting dont match the pic in the programmer…” and “Error writting to pic”

I am trying to with 3 different 16f84a so i don’t thing it is a pic problem but the connection pc-progtrammer

I have tried to

I slow down the port

Turn off fifo on serial port.

The only thing is not from the kit is the serial cable

and the power supply witch provides 14,9V

When the programmer suppose to read all it gets is 3FFF on all values is this normal (the pics are brand new).

Any ideas??

It may be the cable connection: normally pin 2 is connected to pin 3 at the other side (transmit is connected to receive) for communication. For the programmer pin 2 must be connected with pin 2 and 3 with 3 (if I have read the manual well).

I suppose the previous question was with the wrong title (K8076 is the PIC programmer), but I have a question about the K8079:

In the compatibility list of the RF remote controllers, the K8079 is announced, besides the K8074. I just ordered the latter, before I was aware of the former (which isn’t available anywhere). Is the hardware identical and is only the software/firmware different? Is a later upgrade from K8074 to K8079 possible? Or is the K8079 a receiver, not a sender?
