Hello,
I recently bought a K8057 (2 channel RF receiver) and a K8059 (2 channel RF transmitter). I build the K8057 into an plastic housing in my garden. My problem is that my RF signal wouldn’t listen to my receiver. In a range of 2 meters (transmitter to receiver) everyting work’s fine, but as soon when I go to 10 meters my signal drop’s and I can’t send any signal any more. Is there a way to expand my RF range of my transmitter of receiver?
I use an external antenne made of a normal wire of 30 cm and already replaced the battery several times but that wouldn’t help me.
Environmental conditions such as heat, cold, humidity etc… can influence the range. Furthermore, the presence of electric fields, cables, motors, transformers, etc… can further reduce the range. Check if this is applicable to your situation. Make sure to test with no external devices connected to the relays. A two meter range is very low. Check your transmitter. Pay special attention to C2 and C4, make sure they have not been swapped.
Thanks for the response,
I use this K8059 and K8057 to open my front gate and control my garden lights so there is an motor of my front gate close the my K8057, but is there a way to expand my range by adding an Helical antenne on the K8059 and an external RF antenne of 433,92 Mhz on the K8057.
The circuit of the K8059 is not suited for an antenna. The K8057 circuit has an input for a simple wire antenna. Experiment with different lengths and orientation of the wire. Did you try disconnecting the motor from the relays to check if motor interference is causing bad reception ?
Hello,
The RF Range improves when I disconnect the AC motor, but reach not more than nine or ten meters, but on the net I found this informatation so I would try to expand my RF range by adding an heical antenne to my K8059.
Thanks for the response,
I found this page http://www.steeman.be/?p=185 about extending the transmit range of the K8059 transmitter. Does anyone know if this would be the best way to do this, or is there a better way? Are there any disadvantages?
Thanks in advance!
