K8055 will not connect to PC

Hi,
I just put together a K8055 USB interface board.

When I try to make it connect to the PC with the demo program it says “Card 0 not found”. The USB port works OK with other USB devices.

The power led LD11 lights up ok,
Led LD8 goes On, Off, On, Off, On and stays on.

Anybody with any good ideas what it can be?
I have checked the board for bad or shorted solder joints with a strong magnifying glass without finding anything.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with XP SP3

The LD8 flashes indicate that the PIC microcontroller is running but the USB connection (enumeration) fails.
There may be several reasons to this problem.
You may find some hints from this thread:

If you have other USB devices connected to the PC, you may try removing them (if possible).

Also DirectX may cause some compatibility problems if used.

It turned out to be a very simple error on the component side.
Pin 14 (VUSB) of the PIC was not properly inserted in the socket. Was very hard to see, but easy to correct.

Everything is OK now.
