K8055 Board, making an secondary circuit

Hi there,

Just got my new K8055 and all is running sweet :slight_smile: i’m a fairly newbie to the usb interface board but hoping to become very familiar with it. I was wondering. Say for example i want to make a serperate circuit, running on its own power, with 10 leds (including their resistors of course) and i am using the output 8 to switch this circuit on. Should i use a 5v board to do this on my new circuit? As the k8055 is 5 volts (am i right)?

You can use different voltage supply for the external circuit.
This is the specification for the K8055:
8 digital open collector output switches (max. 50V/100mA)
