Hi,
I am interested in the above kit and wish to control it via my Logitech
Harmony IR remote handset.
Is there any way that I can do this without purchasing the K8051 just to
‘teach’ the Harmony?

Preprogrammed codes won’t work, you will have to ‘learn’ a Velleman remote to the unit. Cheapest solution: get the two channel IR xmitter minikit MK162, it is able to reproduce all sixteen channels.
Hello,
After reading this forum I bought the k8050 and the MK162. I only needed the MK162 to teach my URC900i.
Whether I use the MK162 or my URC the next problem occurs.
Channels 1 and 2 work perfectly. The other channels work 60% of the time. Very annoying especially when you’re using macros.
Dou you guys have the same problem? And can this be fixt?
Thanks in advanced
Stefan
Strange problem.
We tried it immediately, but we could not detect a problem.
We can offer inspection of both kits if you return them.
The problem is solved. I didn’t buy a battery for the MK162 but used a cheap AC/DC converter witch wasn’t stabilized. Now I connected the transmitter to a lab power supply and problem solved. Learned the functions on my URC 900i and they all work perfect. A shame I had to buy the remote for one time use. Not very eco-friendly is it!
