K8048 "The setting dont match the PIC"

I have received this error when using the 8048 kit with the 16F627 it came with. When I select PIC16F and type 16F627 and press Read I get this error.
Searching previous post in this forum this error seems to be associated with using a usb-serial convertor. Howver I AM NOT using one of these; my PC Motherboard uses a Intel 82801 Southbridge controller with conventional COM1 addressing via Port 03f8h.please can you explain what the problem is ?

Hi,

I just realized this morning (nearly 2:00 am), that a PIC supplied with Velleman’s VM111 board (K8048) is NOT the mentioned PIC 16F627, but 16F829 instead. With this setting it works fine.

However, Velleman could spare me a long night (would have been sleeping, instead of searching this problem), but such is life…

If PIC16F829 is not in the list.
The only PIC that is supplied is PIC16F627 (normal version, not A).

16 F 819, sorry.
(Unfortunately text on top of the PIC is hardly readable.)
