K8044 question or maybe problem

Hey soo total noob question but I just got the K8044 12V 10-Channel Light Effect Generator Kit and have soldered everything but the led’s into place. I soldered in the 11th LED that signals the power but when I plug it in it doesnt seem to have any power going to it. To my knowledge everything is in place correctly and soldered properly.

So my main question is, does everything have to be soldered before it works? or is something wrong somewhere from the power source to the power LED? thanks! sorry this is such a beginner question and I hope I posted in the right place.

This can just be anything.
If you can provide links to HI-RES and SHARP pictures (e.g. a free online picture base) of both solder and component side, we can take a look at your assembly.

ok here are the pictures and I thank you for the quick response.

I have a feeling my problem might be due to a poor soldering job…

You are right.
Sorry to say, but the soldering is very very bad.
This cannot work.
Please gain some soldering practice first, then redo every solder joint.

well that certainly answers that then. Thank you for the help!

you forgot to install a jumper to tell how many channels you want to use (from 1 to 10)
Cheers!

I have it mounted and it works great, but I would like to make it run on 24 Vdc.
Did anyone tried it?
What modifications are needed?
Thanks for your help!

Fred

No major modifications are needed:
Replace the 78L05 regulator with an 7805 type.
Upgrade electrolytics from 25V to 35VDC types.
If necessary, bridge 47 ohm resistor.
