K8035 How to use as a countdown timer

Hi i have built this module and all seems ok, however i need it to countdown automaticly in mm:ss how do i do this i have set the dip switches to 1 &2 on, 3 on, 4 on, i am correct in thinkng that it will automaticly countdown and stop when it reaches 0000?

Thanks for your help

You need to close the external ‘DOWN’-contact to make count automatically.

Hi Thank you, but what i need to do is set the counter to lets say 10sec the press a button for it to count down operate a relay (to turn a motor on) then when it reaches 0000 stop. I can get the unit to countdown but it then carries on counting down again and does not stop counting.

Use a relay contact to interrupt the counting.

Hi i dont understand. Can you send a diagram?

This is what i need the timers to do.

1: Set the timer to a setting lets say 10sec
2: Press run (when it counts down it needs to operate a motor i know io need a relay here!) then when it has counted down to 0000 automaticaly stop the motor and also the timer remain on 0000.

At the moment the timer carries rolls over and continues counting down.

Use a relay with two sets of contacts.
One set to switch the motor and one set to interrupt the counting.
Wire the NC of the other set in series with the external countdown switch. When the counter reaches zero, it will interrupt the circuit and the counting will stop.

ok i see, can you reccomend a relay i should use?

forgot to ask will the 5v on the K8035 board be ok to switch the relay? I was thinking of using the E.Out for the relay

If the 5V relay draws 50mA or less it should work fine…
