First of all thank you for taking time to read my post. I am writing to enquire whether you have any other information regarding this kit since I have built this kit but I don't know how it really functions. The only information I have got regarding this project is the information found in the illustrated_assembly_manual_k8017 Pdf file. I would be grateful if you supply me other information regarding this fantastic kit.
I was wondering if you can help me understand how the whole circuit works, what is the purpose of each component mounted and why each component is chosen to be the indicated value eg. 4K7 or 470nF. I am currently a Maltese Industrial Electronics student and I am using 220-240V A.C. as a supply for my kit. A document that well-describes all this exist? I think so, since you have designed this kit…
I have found a lot of problems in trying to understand the design of the kit.
Eg. C8 I think that it is there to drop the voltage with its reactance Xc… Which is calculated by Xc=1/2πfc and so how C8 is chosen to be 220nF? The other 12v
is dropped across the Zener, how is the voltage being rectified from A.C. to D.C.? What is the purpose of the components mounted in their designed place eg. R11, R12, etc…and several related questions on each and every component present in the kit…
