K8015 manual

k8015 manual
Hi just tried asemble the k8015 timer kit using the manual that came with it only to find the manual is wrong, it says on page 5 sart with diode 1 etc, but then when you get to resistor 1 it will be the wrong one on the strip of axial componments, I looked at the colour coding on the resistor & I could see that it was a 220 ohm instead of a 1k5 ohm one, you need to start installing the resistors first from the strip of compoments for the rest to be in order, this ment that I had to desolder & swap diode 1&2, the is kit is up & running now but how long for I do not know, because if you cannot get the manual right what hope is there of getting the rest of it right, this is my first vellman kit & it will be my last, if I did not check the compoments & built the kit it would not have worked then if I sent it back for repair you would told me that I assembled it wrong & charged me for it.
not very happy
Paul.

We are sorry to read that you had troubles during the assembly of our K8015 kit.
Altough we try to make the tape fool proof, it is still important to check every value, like you did.
That’s the reason why we still include the colour codes of the resistors and the diode types.
In the future, we will omit the ‘axial parts are taped in the correct sequence’, just to make sure that people stay focussed.

Hi
I just bought a K8015 from my local Velleman dealer and i need one more kit…but i cant find anywhere the temperature range for the kit to work properly.I use it to start something in my car so it will be exposed to -15 maybe less in hard winter.
It will work?
Sorry if i my english is bad.

Kit uses consumer grade parts. (0°C)
However, we have never experienced troubles with lower temperatures.
