K4700 kit problem when I increase the volume

Dear,
sorry for bad english…
I have a strange problem with the kit: it function all good but when i increase the volume, the sound becomes intermittent.
How can i solve the problem?

The kit has been installed correctly and the function test was positive.

Can you help me please?

Thanks a lot.

Are you pushing the amplifier too far so the amplifier goes into clip (distorted sound)?

No. The problem does not occur when the k4700 is disconnected.

Do you have the impression that the relays get energized, so that the speakers get disconnected for a short while?
Can you verify if this is true?

I could check the relay are not activated.
The next test would be the short circuit of the relay?

This evening I will try to exclude them to check if they are the problem.

If clipping of the amplifier is the problem, it is logical that the problem will not occur when the K4700 isn’t connected. Measure the output signal of your amplifier with an oscilloscope and look if the “tops” of your signal get flat when volume is increased. If this happens: find the cause of the clipping because then your K4700 is just doing what it needs to do: protecting your speakers.

Sorry but i have no oscilloscope and cannot measure the output signal.
The amplifier on which I mounted the board is make by a tube preamp and a T-Amp with TA2021 chip.
Watts generated are few (fewer than twenty); clipping is unlikely.

The only option I have is to test the card on another amplifier.

Thank you for your support. I will write again after the new test.

Perhaps the electronics of the K4700 get bit confused due to HF residues coming out of this amp. If the kit does work well on another amplifier (a normal one), try to lend a scope and look at the output signal, also for HF noise.

Finally I made the test on another amplifier and the problem does not occur.

I’ll try to understand what could be the problem to make best use of the K4700 with the original amplifier (TA2021).
Many many thanks for support.

Best regards.
