K3501 12vdc -> 220 vac

hey

I was wondering if you can use a normal 230VAC to 12VAC transformer with k3501 or does it need to be this special transformer 1609 http://www.velleman.be/be/nl/product/view/?id=730?
What kind of signal is on the output of the kit square or sine wave and can i use it with my laptop power supply?

It is a square wave, so most laptop PSU’s are not happy with it. You need a 9VAC transformer. With 12VAC, the output voltage will be too low
