I built the k2543 in my car and it works very good. But someone told me that the coil and ballast resistors are to “heavy” for the k2543, and may result in a burnt down k2543. I think that is not true but I just want to be sure…

That makes sense to me. I’m not an expert! However when Hall Effect systems are connected the supply must be 12V so with a ballast system one needs to take the supply direct from the fuse box - rather than the +ve of the coil which will be about 9V at start [resulting in overheating of the unit]. easier to revert to a conventional coil… ballast resistors aren’t worth the bother imo.
